Florian Engert is currently a Professor for Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University. He received his PhD in 1997 from the Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology in Martinsried, Germany. In 2002, he became Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at Harvard University, where he became Associate Professor in 2006. Florian Engert has been a full professor since 2009. His laboratory works on establishing the larval zebrafish as a model system for visually induced behaviors and the underlying neuronal activity. Florian Engert was awarded the Janssen-Cilag Award for Young Investigators. He was awarded McKnight, Klingenstein, and Dana Research Fellowships and is a member of the Society for Neuroscience.
